MOTION NO.7

MOTION: Councillor J. Sinnott

This Committee notes with concern the continued vacancy of the completed units at the bottom of Grange Road / Nutgrove Avenue in Rathfarnham. As the Committee understands the application under the Capital Advance Leasing Facility has been with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage for over six months with no progress made. This Committee requests that the South Dublin County Council executive write to the Minister for Housing to sanction the application and allow the units be occupied.

REPORT:

An Approved Housing Body (AHB) has secured approval from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the Capital Advance Leasing Facility to acquire these units. The AHB has indicated that handover of the homes is expected in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the allocations section will work closely with the AHB to ensure an efficient allocation process.
