QUESTION: Cllr. Maire Ardagh
To ask the Manager to report on the situation in relation to the operation of the unauthorized Roundabout Van Sales business on Walkinstown Roundabout and will he give a report on the matter.
REPLY:
A plot of land lying between St Peter’s Road and Cromwellsfort Road, Walkinstown is in the ownership of the proprietor of the nearby public house and has been used as an overflow car park for the patrons of the public house. It appears that the plot has not been used for car parking for some time and was recently leased to the proprietor of Roundabout Van Sales.
During a recent inspection, both the landowner and proprietor of the van sales company were advised verbally that the change of use is not considered exempt from the requirement to obtain planning permission.
A Warning Letter dated 24th August 2006 pursuant to Section 152 of the Planning & Development Act was served on both the owner and occupier of the lands.
