MOTION NO.6

MOTION: Councillor J. Sinnott

To ask the manager to contact the Resident at (Address Provided) regarding a tree behind their property that is on public land but causing issues on their property. The tree is very large and has encroached on the wall leaving a crack. As I understand it they contacted the Council back in 2023 and was advised at that time that it would be inspected.

REPORT:

The Council is arranging for an arborist to visit this site at Village Green, Rathfarnham to assess the tree in question and identify its contribution to the issues being experienced. The Council's architectural conservation officer has also been contacted and requested to provide advice on the matter and following this arrangements are now being made to have a conservation specialist examine the wall and advise with regard to what action is required.  Following on from the inspections by both the arborist and the architectural conservation specialist the Council will arrange for any necessary works to be conducted without further delay.
