MOTION: Councillor R. Mannion

That the Chief Executive agrees to immediately engage with Uisce Eireann to address taking in charge issue with the sewage line(s) that are currently not included in Uisce Eireann plans along the Old Knocklyon Road

REPORT:

SDCC has engaged with Uisce Éireann regarding their wastewater sewers in the area of the Old Knocklyon Road.  It’s understood this matter relates to a blockage in late 2024 in the area of Taoibh na Coille estate.  Uisce Éireann have supplied us with an extract of their services in the area and explained that they have no wastewater sewers in Taoibh na Coille estate.  The estate is not taken in charge and all drainage there is private, including the 225mm pipe highlighted on the attached to as far as it’s connection to Uisce Éireann’s 525mm wastewater sewer.  The 225mm pipe highlighted on the attached is private and was installed by the developer of Taoibh na Coille estate.
