MOTION: Councillor N. Whelan

"This area committee requests the community team engage with Tallaght Town AFC around potential funding available to them to bridge the financial gap to build their astro pitch which is urgently needed by the club?"

REPORT: 

The Active South Dublin unit will make contact with the club to discuss their funding needs and potential funding opportunities. SDCC doesn't provide direct bridging finance support but there are other grant opportunities that could potentially be researched such as the Local Enhancement Fund, Community Recognition Fund etc. There are also external providers such as Clann Credo who have supported projects for sports clubs and we can provide contacts and assist the club administratively so that they can stand the best chance possible of getting support.
