QUESTION: Councillor N. Whelan

"Could the Manager please provide an update on the works to be carried out to repair the footpath around Aon Sceal in Tallaght Village?"

REPLY:

We have been unable to temporarily close off this plaza as following engagement with suppliers we have not had a product recommended to us that is suitable to maintain a safe walkway in the area. 

A more permanent scheme design was prepared with the intention of preserving the trees but following an arborist report the trees have been identified as struggling in this environment and a better option would be to replace.

This location is listed on the 2025 draft footpath repair programme (presented as a HI to Cllrs at January ACM) and it is hoped a permanent solution/upgrade of the area will be delivered in early 2025.
