QUESTION NO. 4
QUESTION: Councillor L. de Courcy
To ask the Chief Executive how many trees have been cut down and how many have been replaced in this LEA?
REPLY:
In 2023 a total of 696 trees were removed across the county for a variety of reasons, this number is not recorded on an electoral area basis. It is expected that this number will be higher in 2024 and will be in the range of 700 to 1,000 removals at end of year. The number of trees planted this year will reach 3,500 across the county by end of year and this is expected to be repeated in 2025.
