MOTION: Councillor C Ahern

That the Council implement landscaping works on the green space directly outside the new apartments at the junction of Grange Road and Nutgrove Avenue.

REPORT:

The land outside the new apartments at the junction of Grange Road and Nutgrove Avenue is currently grassed. The Council will explore options for introducing pollinator and biodiversity friendly planting to enhance both the visual appeal and environmental quality of the area. This plan is subject to confirming that the area is suitable for planting and that no existing services would impact the proposed landscaping scheme. Additionally, we will consult with our Roads Department to ensure that any proposed plans do not conflict with existing or future road services or projects.  Once it has been confirmed that there are no obstacles to proceeding with such a scheme, it will be added to the draft Public Realm Improvement Works Programme for 2025 which will be presented to the area committee in January next for discussion and agreement with the elected members.
