QUESTION: Councillor S. Moynihan
To ask the Chief Executive to ensure that the Economic Development Directorate, and the Heritage Team, engage with the Society for Old Lucan and the National Monuments Service with regard to the identification and cataloguing of archaeological artefacts on the grounds of Lucan House.
REPLY:
The Council is currently is in a public procurement process for a Masterplan for Lucan House and Demesne that will have have full regard to the setting and integrity of this environmental and heritage landscape. As part of the Masterplan, an Archaeological Survey will be conducted which will survey the entire property, record baseline data and make recommendations where required. Any archaeological work carried out prior to this Survey, may impact on the development of the Masterplan. Stakeholder engagement will all statutory and interested parties will be an integral part of the Masterplanning process.
