H-I (4) 2024 Housing SPC Work Programme

REPLY:

One of the statutory functions of the Council's Corporate Policy Group is to make proposals for the allocation of business as between strategic policy committees and for the general co-ordination of such business.  Accordingly, the Chair of the Housing SPC, together with the Director of Housing, Community & Social Development, proposed the following areas to be included in the work programme for the Housing SPC and that was subsequently agreed by the Corporate Policy Group:

• Implementation of Housing Delivery Action Plan
• Affordable Housing & Cost Rental Schemes including eligibility and allocation
• Allocations & Housing Need including review of the Allocation Scheme
• Traveller Accommodation Programme
• Energy-Retrofit, Planned Maintenance & Voids Programmes
• Tenant Participation/Engagement Strategy
• Implementation of the National Housing Strategy for Disabled People 2022-2027
• Anti-Social/Community Safety Strategy
• Vacant Homes Schemes
• Housing Communications, Data & Systems

While the programme above covers a comprehensive range of Housing policy areas and initiatives, the list is intended to be both dynamic and indicative rather than exhaustive meaning that as policy requirements emerge and/or other issues arise they can be added to the work programme accordingly and Committee members can provide any items for consideration for inclusion to the Chair of the Committee and/or the Director of Housing, Social and Community Development.
