QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO to confirm plans to provide "Welcome to Tallaght" on all entry points to Tallaght; will he give an update and make a statement?"

REPLY:

I apologise for the delay in progressing this item.  I am trying to get this process started again.  We intend to start with the Tallaght signage as this is the County Town.  In particular, we have asked our signage designers that work begins on the "Welcome to Tallaght" Signs as these will be the most important statement signage for our County Town.

The consultants will now start with some concept signage designs and mock up designs that we will use during a workshop consultation with the members.  Thereafter, we should be able to finalise our design ideas to a preferred design and branding option for the County Signage including the specific "Welcome to Tallaght Signs".  We will then get these signs manufactured and erected early in the roll out as they are recognised as being one of the most important elements within the general county wide signage project.
