QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO for an update on the Age Friendly Housing Developments in Tallaght; will he give details in each case and will he make a statement?"

REPLY:

There are currently three Age Friendly Housing Developments in Tallaght:

Fernwood Green & Maplewood Heights: This development of 40 one and two bedroom homes and community space was complete in November/December 2023. All properties have now been allocated.

Brady's Field, Old Bawn: Development of 12 houses and apartments was substantially complete in December 2023. There are a small number of water connection commissioning works to be complete prior to allocation of the properties. A schedule for handover of homes is currently being agreed with the developer. On the notification of the handover of the units, they will be assigned to the relevant sections in Housing Allocations.

The Weir, Whitestown: Development of 81 Age Friendly homes was substantially complete in December 2023. Utility connections remain outstanding but are in train for completion in Q1 of 2024. On the notification of the completion of these works, they will be assigned to the relevant sections in Housing Allocations to nominate tenants from the age friendly list to the Approved Housing Body(AHB).
