MOTION: Councillor S. Moynihan

To call on the Chief Executive to bring the boarded up home at (Address Provided) back into use immediately.

REPORT:

This property is managed by an Approved Housing Body on behalf of the Council. They confirmed that there has been no notice of surrender from the tenant.  

In December 2023, the tenant reported damage to glass to front of the house. The Approved Housing Body provided boarding-over and make-safe response works.

The Councils social work team contacted the Approved Housing Body to determine if the tenant needs support.  If the property is surrendered, pre-let repairs will be undertaken, and the Council will nominate a new tenant to ensure that the home is brought back into use at the earliest possible date.
