QUESTION NO. 8

QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO to confirm when the first phase of the Innovation Quarter will now be operational; will he give full details and make a statement?"

REPLY:

The site for the new Innovation Centre is located to the North of the South Dublin County Council offices on Belgard Rd North. Construction of this 4 storey landmark building is under construction. The facility comprises 3,000m2 of lettable offices in various sizes on floors 1 to 3  over ground floor which includes and public area, town hall space, café and meeting rooms

The building, and development work is near completion and keys are expected to be handed over to Oxford Innovation (OI) who will manage and operate the facility in the coming weeks. OI have completed their recruitment of their local Management Team who have commenced initial contact with businesses that have expressed an interest in moving into the facility which will accommodate up to 60 businesses when fully occupied.

The Tallaght Public Realm is also underway and due for completion in early 2024. This includes the new Innovation Square at Innovation Quarter, as well as Chamber Square, the mobility hub and the interconnecting public spaces.
