QUESTION: Councillor T. Costello

"The hoarding is now down from the housing on Brady's Field. It is clear what the football team raised during the meeting with SDCC about this scheme regarding the risk of footballs going into the complex and posing a risk to windows. The railings won't keep all the footballs out during training, matches or kick about.. There was discussion of nets being erected at the meeting. Can you confirm if that is being explored or implemented please?"

REPLY:

The football pitch adjacent to the age friendly development at Brady's Field was unallocated for the 2022/2023 season. To date it has not been allocated in 2024. As the development is now at the final stages of handover a meeting will be arranged with representatives from the allocated football club for 2024 to discuss options around the use of the pitch which will provide minimum interference to residents of the development.
