MOTION NO. 1

MOTION: Councillor V. Mulhall

"This Area Committee supports the need for a maintenance plan for active travel infrastructure in Tallaght".

REPORT:

We anticipate that the NTA 2024 annual allocation of funding will include a contribution towards the maintenance of the cycle network in the county. The Road Maintenance section have a programme to address maintenance issues on the network which were identified as part of a county wide survey in 2023.

The image (submitted with the Motion) is of the new cycle track at the junction of Killinarden Heights and Killinarden Way. This was identified as a location on the newly installed track which will need the installation of a gulley and it is hoped this will be installed in the coming weeks. The area will be monitored post completion to ensure that the drainage is working adequately.
