SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF RATHFARNHAM / TEMPLEOGUE / FIRHOUSE / BOHERNABREENA AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO.3
QUESTION: Councillor J. Sinnott
To ask the manager to outline the criteria for the replacement or repair of pathways in the Rathfarnham / Templeogue / Firhouse Bohernabreena Area.
REPLY:
Footpaths are repaired/replaced based on the quality of surface and whether any hazards are present. They are not repaired based on aesthetics.
Road Maintenance receive regular requests from elected members and members of the public for footpath repair. Our roads inspectors will inspect the sites and determine whether works are required and if so what extent. They are then listed for consideration for future footpath repair programmes. Locations requiring repair are also noted by staff and added to this list.
If an area has a particularly bad hazard then an immediate repair is organised.
