QUESTION: Councillor D. Richardson

"Can the manager update us on the opening of the North stand at Tallaght stadium and the total cost to SDCC?"

REPLY:

Work on the new North Stand and enhancements to the West Stand and upgrades to the South Stand at Tallaght Stadium will be substantially complete this month, with only minor ancillary works outstanding.

The development includes the new North Stand, the revamped Corporate and Hospitality areas of the Main Stand as well as the improved accessible seating and the Changing Places Facility in the South Stand.

All these developments will bring the Stadium capacity to 10,000 and will enhance the experience of those attending football matches at the Stadium, as well as for the other activities like Conferences, concerts, meetings, business and community events that will take place at the venue.

The agreed contract cost to the Council is €10,148,737 excluding VAT. The Stadium development was approved for Urban Regeneration Development Funding approval of €6,347,252.
