QUESTION NO.1

QUESTION: Councillor L.Guéret

To ask the Manager if there are any current or future plans to clean the granite stones behind the Anne Devlin Statue at the end of Rathfarnham Village.

REPLY:

The flower bed around the Anne Devlin statue was recently upgraded with pollinator friendly perennial planting to improve the visual appearance of this part of Rathfarnham Village, this project was then followed on by adjacent symmetrical planting. The granite stones which form the background to the statue have developed a natural colour over time, it is felt that the current appearance of the granite adds to the character of this monument.  It is felt that cleaning these stones would be detrimental to the overall character and appearance of the area and for this reason it is not proposed to clean these stones at the present time.
