MOTION: Councillor E. Murphy
Joint Motion with Cllr Alan Edge 'That in view of the level of opposition expressed by the local community, this Area Committee requests the Chief Executive to reconsider the decision to bring forward the proposed 3G Astro pitch in Knocklyon Park'.
REPORT:
The plans and particulars of the proposed development for a proposed Synthetic Grass Sports Pitch at Knocklyon Park, Ballycullen, Dublin 16 were available for inspection online on the Council’s Public Consultation Portal website (http://consult.sdublincoco.ie) during the period from 29th April 2023 to 9th June 2023. Printed plans and particulars were available for inspection at County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 during office hours from 29th April 2023 to 26th May 2023.
Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development could be made in writing up to 5pm on 9th June 2023 and could be submitted either via http://consult.sdublincoco.ie or by post.
Within 4-weeks from the date of publication of the public notice, several 3rd parties applied to An Bord Pleanála requesting a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
On the 19th of September 2023, An Bord Pleanála notified SDCC that an Environmental Impact Assessment Report and a Natura Impact Statement were not required for the proposed development. The Council is currently reviewing the Bord Pleanála Report.
