QUESTION: Councillor L.Guéret

To ask the Manager about the possibility of getting and the necessary criteria required to get a Place Name sign erected at the Noel Lemass Monument in the Dublin Mountains by South Dublin County Council.

REPLY:

The memorial in question is not maintained by the Council and it appears that this memorial was erected and maintained on a voluntary basis.  The land on which the memorial is placed is in the ownership/maintenance of the National Parks & Wildlife Services.

There would be no safe suitable place on Military Road to put a directional sign as there is no footpath on the roadway to erect such a sign.
