(ii) Affordable Housing

Affordable Purchase Housing at Kilcarbery Grange Phase 2

South Dublin County Council advertised the sale of 29 dwellings (5 three-bedroom houses and 24 three-bedroom duplexes) under the Affordable Purchase Housing Scheme at Kilcarbery Grange, Phase 2.  A total of 211 applications were received before the portal for online applications closed on 25th of May 2023.  There has been positive feedback on the scheme and much engagement with the Council’s Affordable housing team.      

Eligible applicants have been offered the opportunity to purchase an affordable unit in sequence with the Order of Priority as per the Scheme of Priority for Affordable Dwelling Purchase Arrangements. 

The Council’s Affordable housing team are working closely with applicants to support them through the affordable housing process. 

To date 14 eligible applicants have been allocated an affordable home in this phase. Final loan offers have been submitted by 4 eligible applicants and the legal process to complete the purchase has commenced. he Council anticipates that the remaining 15 units will be allocated over the coming weeks as the next applicants in order of priority submit the required information and secure their mortgage approval. 

Affordable Purchase Housing at Clonburris 

The Council has submitted an application to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in relation to 25 homes to be provided as turnkey for affordable purchase with homes due for completion in two tranches in Q4 2023 and Q2 2024 in conjunction with the developer.

Once approval has been received, the Affordable Homes will be advertised on the Council's website and social media sites and a newspaper circulating in the administrative area of South Dublin in accordance with our adopted Scheme of Priority for Affordable Dwelling Purchase Arrangements.
