SCHOLARSTOWN ROAD - SIGNAGE

MOTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"That the Council moves immediately to provide appropriate road signage for all the sections of Scholarstown Road and Knocklyon Road as there is considerable confusion because of road developments in recent years and for the Manager to make available a detailed local roads map of the area for the meeting to facilitate a proper discussion."

REPORT:

Phases 2 & 3 of the county-wide signage strategy is currently under review to take account of changes to the road network since the strategy was drafted in 2002. A revised report is expected in July 06 to be followed by an updated implementation programme in September 06.  Signage requirements for the Scholarstown and Knocklyon Roads will be reviewed as part of this programme.
