QUESTION NO.

QUESTION: Councillor L. Sinclair

"That the executive outline the park ranger schedule for Watergate Park and, following serious incidents of anti social behavior in the park, what plans there are to increase this presence?"

REPLY:

The Park Rangers visit the park daily, times of visits vary depending on on other parks within thier remit. As mentioned in previous reports the Council’s Park Rangers have been asked to increase their visits to the park and to liaise with the community gardai in relation to any issues that come to their attention. In addition to this, there is a full-time staff member located in Sean Walsh Park, which provides passive supervision within the park. If and when incidents happen they are reported to the Gardai in Tallaght Gardai Station. In general, the Gardai are of the view that the park is a safe environment for members of the public to enjoy.
