QUESTION: Councillor D. Richardson

"Can the manager report on when the new Astro beside Tallaght stadium will be ready?"

REPLY:

South Dublin County Council passed the Part 8 for a synthetic grass 3G all-weather sports pitch at Sean Walsh Park, at the site of an existing grass pitch, in 2021. It is one of the 5 No. artificial grass pitches planned for completion under SDCC's sports pitch strategy and agreed capital budget programme. It is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in July 2023.

The 3G pitch in Sean Walsh Park will be bookable through an online booking system.  SDCC are in contact with local clubs in the area to examine expressions of interest to ensure fair usage of the facility. If a club wishes to contact Public Realm Administration section with their interest they can do so by emailing publicrealm@sdublincoco.ie
