QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to review the sequencing of the right turn traffic light at the junction of the Blessington Road and the Cheeverstown Road as it would appear that there are currently unnecessary tailbacks of traffic turning right when there is a significantly lower flow of traffic coming from the Blessington direction?"

REPLY:

The Traffic Section will re-examine the signal sequence and timings at this junction in the light of current traffic movements and amend these if appropriate.  A yellow box has recently been approved by the Traffic Management Committee on the N81 outbound section of this junction, and statutory approval is currently awaited. This should further improve the situation for right-turning traffic exiting from the Cookstown/Cheeverstown Road.
