QUESTION: Councillor Derren Ó Brádaigh

To ask the manager to provide an update detailing the extent of retrofit works undertaken on the council's housing stock in 2022, listing any constraints or challenges in meeting the completion of scheduled works.

REPLY:

In order to complete energy retrofit works on a property, extensive surveys are required to identify the specific works required in order to achieve the improved Building Energy Rating of B2.  Once the surveys are complete, tender process is commenced to identify suitably qualified contractors.  It should be noted, works currently on site are as a result of surveys being completed in 2022. 

• 67 homes were fully completed in 2022
• To date in 2023
  • Works to 171 homes has been awarded, with approximately 60 nearing completions. Discussions ongoing with the contractor to complete an additional 24 homes in accordance with procurement guidelines. 
  • Tender preparation is being finalised for an addition 60 properties with works to be on site May/June 2023
  • Surveys of an additional 110 properties is commencing May 2023 with works scheduled to be on site August 2023
  • Additional properties are currently being identified for completion 2023/24
