QUESTION: Councillor L. Dunne

"To ask the Manager can Croi Ro Naofa GAA Club be kept informed of when Killinarden Park redevelopment work is to start & can they also be facilitated with alternative pitches while work is in progress, additionally, can they be provided with use of an astro pitch to train on during the winter months?"

REPLY:

Killinarden Park upgrades works is currently at tender stage and SDCC is assessing the submitted tenders at this time. As soon as we have an outcome from the assessment we will inform councillors and we will let Croi Ro Naofa GAA Club know as well. Subject to a successful outcome the contractor programme should be available soon thereafter when start dates etc. can be confirmed.

Regarding alternative pitch availability; at present here is a pitch generally available for all clubs to avail of in Dodder Valley Park that requires booking on line (pavillion adjacent also bookable by all clubs who wish to use it). Public Realm can discuss alternative pitches while works are progressing with the club, if they could contact Public Realm Administration at publicrealm@sdublincoco.ie; we can discuss what suits best.

Works on SDCC’s Sean Walsh Park Astro pitch are nearing completion and once works are completed this pitch will be made available to clubs and other groups to hire out at a reasonable rate via an on-line booking system.
