MOTION: Councillor C. King

"That this Committee calls on the Manager to report on what efforts are being made to improve the accuracy of the electoral register in the two Tallaght wards".

REPORT:

Each year the Council would normally provide the necessary staffing resources and meet the associated costs of carrying out an annual review of the Register of Electors.  As regards this year’s review, however, it is understood that proposals with regard to additional resources and the methodology of the review are pending from the Minister for Environment, Heritage and Local Government.  Additional staffing and financial resources would, most likely, significantly improve the accuracy and completeness of the Register of Electors.
