SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE

QUESTION NO.12
QUESTION: Councillor K. Mahon
"To ask the manager/s to confirm that commitments related to SDCC flowing from recent discussions at the Tallaght Transport Forum are with the relevant departments and to update on each?"
REPLY:
Council officials from the relevant departments attended meetings and a site visit with members of the Tallaght Transport Forum to address issues raised by Dublin Bus regarding bus services to West Tallaght.
Issues raised and actions carried out to date by the Council below are as follows:
Stop number 2559 Killinardan Health Centre and Stop 2560 Cushlawn Park, this stretch of road would benefit from extra, improved street lighting
The Public Lighting Section is examining public lighting at Killinardan Heights with a view to carrying out a full LED upgrade at this location and foresee these works being carried out over the summer months.
Stop 2561 opposite Donomore Crescent and Stop 2562 Sacred Heart FC would benefit from the hedgerows being significantly cut back. Noticeable litter and absence of Bus Shelters all along this part of the route
Public Realm have completed hedge cutting at Killinarden Heights and illegal waste materials have been removed from the open space.
Dublin Bus/National Transport Authority are responsible for the planning and installation of bus shelters which requires planning permission from the Council.
Stop 2352 Jobstown House, area needs constant attention from Public Realm
Public Realm have removed rubbish from this area and continue to monitor the situation.
Issues at Cloonmore, better lighting and pruning of hedging and trees at Kiltalown required
Public Realm have completed works to address the overhanging branches at this location. The Public Lighting Section have confirmed that LED upgrade works have been completed and additional lighting has been provided as requested.
