MEETING OF CLONDALKIN, NEWCASTLE, RATHCOOLE, SAGGART AND BRITTAS AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

That this Area Committee calls on the Council to meet with Clondalkin Tidy Towns and Elected Councillors to discuss the started World War 1 memorial garden in Clondalkin park. We ask that report has a date and time for such a meeting also that the report explains what has been done in front of trees at the memorial.

REPORT:

The Public Realm Section can meet to discuss the existing works that have taken place at the WW1 site in Clondalkin Park.  Should the meeting require discussions on additional works a submission in writing regarding same is required beforehand.  It would not be possible to discuss future works in the absence of knowing what is proposed. 

In relation to any further works including a namestone or monument, this is a matter for the Naming and Infrastructure group, and this has been discussed previously.

The works that were completed in front of the trees was the planting of pollinator bulbs and wildflowers.  A meeting can be arranged in March subject to agreement on a suitable date for all parties.
