MOTION NO.5

MOTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

That this Area Committee agrees that the old water pump currently located outside the Pipe Band Hall on the Old Nangor Road in Clondalkin be moved to a location outside the Round Tower Heritage Centre as agreed under the 300K Have Your Say scheme for Clondalkin.

REPORT:

The Restoration of Old Nangor Road Water Pump has been carried out by the Council's Heritage Officer and the €300k Have Your Say project is complete, as previously reported to this Area Committee.

The proposed work sought in this Motion requires initial investigation to assess if the outlets on the pump are still connected to the mains.  To confirm if connected, it would be require excavation, possibly back to the main. Moving the pump to new location requires an application for a new connection and would need to be applied for to Uisce Eireann. 

This work would require resources and funding not currently assigned, and would require provision in the budget and agreed in order to proceed.
