QUESTION: Councillor M. Corr

"To ask the Manager to explain why the Local Area Plan process for the Saggart/Citywest area has been halted since January?"

REPLY

Work on the Rathcoole/Saggart/Citywest Local Area Plan is ongoing.  The following Specific Local Objectives of the SDCC Development Plan are to be included in the development of this Local Area Plan:

·         SLO 88 Garter Lane Trees

·        

     SLO96 Saggart Mill Road

     Amenities

·         SLO 98 Architectural Conservation

·         SLO 99 Saggart Swiftbrook Mills Open Space

·         SLO 100  Saggart Local Area Plan

·         SLO102 Proctors Cottage, Saggart

·         SLO 105 Kilteel Road Height Restrictions

 

To date the following tasks are being undertaken:

·         A land use survey of Rathcoole which is being analysed to determine the urban design components of the plan. 

·         Statistical research on the demographic profile of the area.

·         A brief has been drafted to investigate the potential for Saggart to be designated as an Architectural Conservation Area.

·         Infrastructure implications of newly zoned lands are being assessed.

·         Assessment of deficiencies in the area.
