Local Economic & Community Plan Update

The Council has tendered for a consultant to develop the new Local Economic Community Plan (LECP) for the County.  Tender evaluation is currently being undertaken and the successful tenderer will:

• Finalise an agreed draft of the socio-economic statement for SDCC’s LECP.
• Design and carry out elements of the consultation process as agreed with SDCC staff Liaison.
• Engage with SDCC to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are consulted during the course of the process.
• Produce a report on the outcomes of the consultation process .
• Use the outcomes of the consultation process to review the high-level goals which will form the basis for the objectives of the LECP.
• Further develop the high-level goals within both the economic and the community elements of the LECP in the form of specific, measurable sustainable objectives and desired outcomes.

The LECP Advisory Group most recently met on 20^th January 2023 and agreed that it will reconvene once the consultant is appointed.  Cllr. Charlie O'Connor was the Social, Community and Equality SPC representative on the advisory group and a replacement is now required for this role given Cllr. O'Connor's recent move

The table below outlines the key next steps in the development of the new LECP:

Public Consultation	Ongoing: Various community public consultations undertaken, e.g.child poverty agency seminar, healthy county workshop, sports plan consultation, local community consultations etc.
High Level Goals	Final high-level goals to be agreed based on consultation feedback.  This will underpin LECP objectives and actions.
Revised LECP Statement	Revised statement and associated objectives to be developed
