QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"Could the Manager make a report to this Area Committee regarding any plans to install Speed Ramps at Raheen Park. Local residents have expressed concerns that cars are speeding at this location and are afraid that pupils walking through this area to St Marks National school are at risk from speeding traffic?"

REPLY:

Raheen Park has been listed for traffic calming measures. The proposed traffic calming measure, in line with SDCC's Street Improvement Policy, is to perform junction narrowing at the entrance to the estate from Raheen Road. Additionally a raised table at the junction with Raheen Crescent is proposed. Prior to installation a proposal will be brought to the elected members for comment. These traffic calming works will be included in 2023 works programme.
