2023 Housing SPC Work Programme

One of the statutory functions of the Council's  Corporate Policy Group is to make proposals for the allocation of business as between strategic policy committees and for the general co-ordination of such business.  Accordingly, the previous Chair of the Housing SPC, together with the Director of Housing, Community & Social Development, propsoed the following 2023 areas to be included in the work programme for the Housing SPC that was subsequently agreed by the Corporate Policy Group:

• Implementation of Housing Delivery Action Plan
• Affordable Housing & Cost Rental Schemes including eligibility and allocation
• Allocations & Housing Need
• Traveller Accommodation Programme
• Energy retrofit, planned maintenance & re-let works
• Estate management and tenant participation
• Housing communications, data & systems

While the programme above covers a comprehensive range of Housing policy areas and initiatives, the list is intended to be both dynamic and indicative rather than exhaustive meaning that as policy requirements emerge and/or other issues arise they can be added to the work programme accordingly and Committee members can provide any items for consideration for inclusion to the Chair of the Committee and/or the Director of Housing, Social and Community Development.

It is also anticipated that working groups will need to be established during the 2023 work programme to progress the following policies:

• Review of the Allocations Scheme
• Anti-Social Behaviour Strategy
