QUESTION NO.

QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"To ask the Manager to advise this Area Committee as to what action will be taken to bring back into view and protect the remnants of the gate pillars into Tymon Cottage still standing in Tymon Lane in Tymon Park?"

REPLY:

The gate pillars referred to here on Tymon Lane have been inspceted recently.  The pillars are in poor condition and it is therefore proposed to consult the Council's Architectural Conservation officer with regard to what works could be carried out on the pillars without causing further deterioration of their condition.  It might also be necessary to consult the heritage officer with regard to what removal and cutting back of trees and overgrowth in the area is possible as this area has become an established habitat within the park.  Once these matters have been examined and considered a decision will be taken as to how to proceed to restore the pillars to view.
