QUESTION NO.

QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor

"To ask the CEO to detail the schedule being followed in respect of the new Stand at Tallaght Stadium and will he confirm when he now expects the works to be completed, and the facilities available?"

REPLY:

The Construction works at Tallaght Stadium are currently on schedule, comprising a new North Stand for spectators, as well as upgraded corporate, match day media and hospitality areas of the existing Main Stand. There are also scheduled works to the existing South Stand which includes a Changing Places Facility for attendees at Stadium events, as well as improved viewing access for spectators with limited mobility.  The works currently underway will ensure the Stadium reaches UEFA Category 4 standard, which will continue to allow the hosting of European football as well as International games at the venue. The match day capacity will be for over 10,000 spectators. In addition the improved facilities will assist the Council with the potential hosting of concerts, and other large scale events, at the venue.

The Stadium will re-open for football games from the first weekend of March, with Shamrock Rovers, SSE League Champions, hosting their first home league games of the 2023 Season, that weekend.

All the works are scheduled to be completed by the end of July 2023.
