QUESTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the redevelopment of the Old Swimming Pool building in Clondalkin Leisure Centre that was discussed under Motion 7 of the March 2022 ACM?

REPLY:

The community team has met with with SDCC Architects in relation to this project and it has been agreed that a meeting will be held with SDCLS Board of Management and a Community Consultation will be required before proceeding to design proposition stage.  Only after full public consultation with all stakeholders, and with an agreed sense of the best use of this community space, will the required design work commence. Community in SDCC will now meet with the Board of SDCLS and also propose a consultation approach for community involvement. This is a long term project and is not in the 3 year capital programme at present. New Community buildings are now timelined ahead of this potential refurbishment.
