QUESTION NO. 4

QUESTION: Councillor M. Duff

"Can the Manager please indicate how many applications were received for Housing Aid for Older Person Grants in 2022 and how many of those grants were finalised year to date?"

REPLY:

The Council received 134 applications County-wide made under the Housing Aid for Older People scheme in 2022.

Of these applications: -

• 40 were approved and paid on completion of the works in the current year.
• 28 are approved and awaiting the completion of works for payment.
• 7 are valid applications in which the grant value is currently being assessed.
• 7 were refused as they did not qualify.
• 37 applications were incomplete on receipt and additional documentation has been requested to validate these submissions. The Council are engaging with applicants on the provision of required additional documentation.

The Council has a further 16 applications on hand received County-wide in the last two months which are yet to be validated.

The Council received 40 applications made under the Housing Aid for Older People scheme in 2022 from the Tallaght area.

Of these applications: -

• 11 were approved and paid on completion of the works in the current year.
• 13 are approved and awaiting the completion of works for payment.
• 2 are valid applications in which the grant value is currently being assessed.
• 3 were refused as they did not qualify.
• 10 applications were incomplete on receipt and additional documentation has been requested to validate these submissions. The Council are engaging with applicants on the provision of required additional documentation.

The Council has a further 7 applications on hand from the Tallaght area received in the last two months which are yet to be validated.
