QUESTION NO. 5
QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor
"To ask the CEO to present an update in respect of all the Age Friendly Housing projects now under construction in the Tallaght area and in reporting will he reveal his plans for the allocation of all the units and will he make a statement?"
REPLY:
Age Friendly Developments currently under construction in the Tallaght area include:
Whitestown Way - 81 homes due for delivery in late 2024
Bradys Field, Old Bawn - 12 homes due for delivery in 2024
Maplewood/Fernwood - 40 homes - new contractor to be appointed by AHB early in 2023. Homes due to be delivered in Q2/Q3 2024.
In addition to the schemes under construction a design team has been appointed to progress detailed design and prepare a tender to appoint a contractor for the Part 8 approved scheme of 12 homes at St Aongus's Green.
The Council’s Rightsizing Policy, adopted by the Elected Members in December 2020, provides for allocation of age friendly homes to people aged 55 or older through the housing list (including homeless, medical priority or HAP transfers), transfers (existing Council tenants rightsizing) or the community list (financial contribution for private homeowners rightsizing). Expression of Interest has been sought through the Choice based Letting for the units at Maplewood / Fernwood and offers will be made on notification of completion dates. Further schemes in the Tallaght area will be advertised though CBL and communicated through a variety of channels to allow for expressions of interest across all lists.
