QUESTION NO. 8
QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons
To ask the Chief Executive for a report from planning into how much of the original wall was to be kept at Floraville Lodge, Monastery Road, Clondalkin as set by An Bord Pleanála, the cladding that is being used is not in keeping with motion 70538 of the County Development plan? And to also ask what happened to the lodge gate?
REPLY:
Planning permission (SD20A/0233) for the demolition of Floraville Cottage (also known as Floraville Lodge) and the construction of a 4 storey building comprising 10 apartments was refused by South Dublin County Council and thereafter granted on appeal by An Bord Pleanala (reference – 309497-21). Condition 13 of the permission requires: the existing strong wall running along the northern boundary of the site adjacent to Monastery Road shall be retained as part of the development, with the exception of the proposed pedestrian entrance along the site frontage. No conditions were imposed in relation to the gate. Condition 2 of an Bord Pleanala’s permission related to elevational finishes and required these be agreed with South Dublin County Council, these details were agreed in June 2022. The granting of this permission on appeal and the agreement of the elevational materials pre-dated the adoption of the new South Dublin County Development Plan 2022-2028.
