QUESTION: Cllr. Cathal King

"To ask the Manager, to clarify the Housing Departments position in terms of the consultation process between the Council and Futurewest Ltd in relation to phases 3&5 of the Fortunestown B development and also to clarify the comparative position in relation to the West Tallaght implementation and monitoring Committee and can he/she make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY

The Part 8 process for the development of 160 No. residential units, crêche, community building and playground at Fortunestown B, Phases 3 and 5, Fortunestown Way, Tallaght, Dublin 24 was advertised on the 13^th March 2006.  Drawings of the proposed development were on display until Monday 10^th April 2006 with a further 2 weeks until 26^th April 2006 for submissions and objections.

One submission from Futurewest was received prior to the closing date and this submission is at present being considered.  A request for a further meeting has also been received and arrangements in this regard are in hand.

It is proposed to submit a report on the matter to the next meeting of this Area Committee dealing with Housing Business.
