Removal of the bus plug as suggested in Motion No. 5 from April 's Area Committee Meeting cannot be recommended for the reasons stated in the report thereon. To remove the bus plug would undermine the efficiency of the QBC, and reverse the measures previously agreed following public consultation. This could only be regarded as an encouragement of the use of private transportation and a disincentive to the use of public transport, completely contrary to the traffic and transport policies being pursued by this Council in conjunction with the Dublin Transportation Office, the Department of Transport and other relevant agencies and transport operators including Dublin Bus.  

 

Following on the construction of the Greenhills Road to the N81 there is a viable alternative to motorists.
