MOTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

That this Area Committee agrees that the bins along the Grand Canal Greenway in Clondalkin should be emptied more often than once a week.

REPORT:

Significant resources are being put in to the monitoring and maintainenance of the Grand Canal Greenway. Our tender for services associated with this including provision for bin collection /cleansing services is at present up for review and we are discussing the matter more broadly with Waterways Ireland the property owners and Dublin City Council into whose area the service extends. Rates and service standards will be sought that can provide for a degree of flexibility in the service particularly at those times of the year where activity levels are high leading to additional rubbish accumulating.
