MOTION: Councillor Yvonne Collins

To ask for more bins in Dodder Valley Park, particularly at the access points to and along the Dodder Greenway

REPORT:

A commitment was given to the October meeting of this area committee to install new litter bins at an additional 6 locations in Dodder Valley Park along the greenway.  These proposed new locations will include seating areas which have been provided, including those at the Firhouse Weir and at the junction of Firhouse Road and the Spawell Link Road.  These will be in addition to the 8 litter bins which are currently in place at various entrances to the park and at the sports pavilion at Old Bawn Road.  The commitment give in October was to install the new bins in the coming weeks however it has not been possible to meet that timeframe due to the demand on resources from the response to Halloween.  The promised litter bins will be installed before the end of November.
