QUESTION NO. 5

QUESTION: Councillor E. Murphy

Can the Council please confirm if there are any plans for an upgrading of Dargle Park now that there will be a pedestrian access to it from Two Oaks (Old Cosgraves land)?

REPLY:

There are no plans at present for upgrade works to be carried out in Darglewood Park.  While some footpath repairs have been carried out in recent years, further repairs are required in some locations and these are being considered for inclusion in the draft Public Realm Improvement Works Programme for 2023. Any projects proposed for the area by local elected members will be examined and considered for inclusion in the draft programme of works.

The planned pedestrian entrance from the Two Oaks development into Darglewood Park has not been constructed yet and it is therefore premature to consider any works to accomodate this.  It is quite likely that the developer will connect to exisiting pathways through the park when creating the proposed new access.
