REPLY:
The Council is committed to putting disabled people at the centre of housing policies and to lead in delivering quality and appropriate housing as outlined in the Strategic Plan for Housing People with a Disability 2021-2026 and, under the Council's Housing Delivery Action Plan 2022-2026, we are committed to increased delivery of suitable homes to meet the needs of households with medical priority through our own construction programme, Part V delivery, partnership with AHBs and through casual vacancies of specially adapted accommodation in our existing housing stock.
The medical section and disabled persons grants section inform the housing construction and acquistion (including through Part V supply) programmes of both the Council and Approved Housing Bodies including to ensure appropriate specially adapted, wheelchair accessible and wheelchair liveable homes are iprovided to meet medical hosuing needs.
