To ask the Chief Executive for a report into what books are available in different languages from our libraries and can members of the public request same?

REPLY:

South Dublin Libraries' catalogue includes over 36,000 items in 75 languages other than English. A full breakdown of languages and item numbers is attached separately.

All members of South Dublin Libraries have access to our own full catalogue and the Libraries Ireland catalogue of over 12,000,000 titles. An "Advanced Search" of the catalogue can be carried out by language. The catalogue is available both at www.southdublinlibraries.ie and www.librariesireland.ie. Members can reserve items online for collection in their nearest branch.
