REPLY:
The contractor for the Older persons development of 12 homes at Bradys Field Old Bawn commenced site set up in August 2022. In advance of construction works commencing an online meeting was held on 10th August to discuss specific concerns of the community in relation to the re-location of the Old Bawn Stone and the Tree of Hope. Persons attending that meeting including SDCC personnel, Architects for the design team, locally elected mebers and represenatives of the local community. At the meeting the design team shared drawings which showed a proposed site location for the re-locatation of the Tree of Hope and Old Bawn Stone.
As not all persons with vested interests in the specic matters being discussed were able to attend the online meeting contact was also made with them by email to inform them of the matters discussed and to share with them drawings of the proposed re-location site for the Old Bawn Stone and the Tree of Hope. All those in attendance at the meeting as well of those unable to attend agreed with the site proposed for the re-location of the symbolic Old Bawn Stone and Tree of Hope. Further contact is to be made with Tymon Bawn Foorball Club to discuss preventative measures which can be undertaken to stop footballs entering the development.
The contractor has removed the Old Bawn Stone and also replanted the Tree of Hope in its new location. The construction programme for this devleopment is approximately 12 months.
